What are the India JEE (Main) application photo requirements?
For JEE (Main) 2027 you capture a live photo and upload a recent colour passport-size photo with 80% face, ears visible and no mask, on a white background, as a JPG/JPEG of 10 kB to 200 kB. The signature is a JPG/JPEG of 10 kB to 100 kB. On exam day you take two more copies of the same photo.
These rules are from the National Testing Agency's Information Bulletin for the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2027, released for the Session 1 application that runs from 24 October to 22 November 2026, with exams on 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 and 28 January 2027. The Session 2 application runs from 5 January to 3 February 2027.
NTA publishes a new information bulletin for every JEE (Main) year, and the rules can change. NTA gives no photo size in centimetres, only passport size.
