At a glance

The Monegasque passport is the document covered for Monaco. The Passport Service of the General Secretariat of the Government issues it and asks for one printed photo, 35 x 45 mm (written 4.5 x 3.5 cm), taken by a professional photographer, in colour, under 6 months old, on a light background. White is prohibited, and photo-booth or personal photos are refused.

Overview

The Monegasque passport is issued by the Passport Service, part of the General Secretariat of the Government, at the Ministry of State in Monaco. Only Monegasque nationals can apply. You file at the Ministry of State reception or by post, with original documents and a paper photograph.

Unlike countries where an office takes the picture, Monaco asks you to supply a professionally made print and publishes a precise list for it: no smile, no glasses, bare head, a light background and no white. Each child needs a personal passport and the same photo. The passport page sets the rules out in full.
