Danish citizens who live in Greenland can choose a Greenlandic or a Danish passport, and both are ordered at the local police station. The photo for either is 35 x 45 mm (1.38 x 1.77 in), with the head 30 to 36 mm from chin to top of hair, in colour or black and white. You bring a printed photo and appear in person.

Greenland has one document in this guide, the passport. Greenland Police (Grønlands Politi) issue it through the local police stations, and the public portal Sullissivik publishes the same instructions. You must be a Danish citizen, and you decide yourself between the Greenlandic passport, marked "Danmark – Kalaallit Nunaat" on the cover, and the Danish passport, marked "Danmark – Den Europæiske Union".
Everyone appears in person to order, children under 18 included, and brings the application form, the photo and, where needed, a baptism, name or birth certificate.
