At a glance

Namibia has two photo pages here. The Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security issues passports and asks for one passport size colour photo, with missions asking for one or two prints and London for 35 x 45 mm. Visas are mainly applied for online with a photo upload of 300 KB to 2 MB and no published size, while Berlin asks for 2 x 2 inch prints.

Overview

One ministry handles both documents, but the photo rules do not match. For a passport you apply in person on paper, at the ministry in Windhoek, at a regional office or at a Namibian mission, and each mission sets its own photo count. For a visa you mostly apply online on the ministry's e-services portal, uploading a scanned passport photo.

Namibia's official pages publish few dimensions. The ministry says "passport size" for passports and gives only a file size for the online visa photo. The sizes you see on commercial sites, such as 37 x 52 mm, do not appear on any official page read for this guide. Where a size is published, it belongs to a single mission: London for passports and Berlin for visas.
