Laos photo specifications
Photo sizes and rules for 3 documents issued in Laos, taken from the issuing authorities and linked to their official pages.
At a glance
The Lao ministry's passport form asks for a colour photo of 4 x 6 cm on white, stamped by the village head, and you apply in person. The official e-Visa takes a 4 x 6 cm colour photo on white, while the Washington embassy asks for 2 x 2 inch photos for visas and adoption applications. A government decree lists 4 x 6 photographs for adoption.
Overview
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Laos is behind all three documents. Its Consular Department issues passports and publishes the application forms, and applicants appear in person to be photographed and give fingerprints. Its e-Visa portal handles tourist visas online, and Lao embassies issue paper visas and handle child adoption applications for citizens and foreigners abroad.
The photo differs by document and by channel. A passport form carries a printed colour 4 x 6 cm photo with the village head's stamp. An e-Visa takes an uploaded 4 x 6 cm image. Embassy paper forms ask for printed photos, and the size can be 2 x 2 inches at Washington. Check each document's page for the rules and for what we could not confirm.
