At a glance

For Uzbek citizens, the ID card and the biometric passport for travel abroad share one photo page: at home both are photographed on site, while consulates abroad ask for a 35 x 45 mm print as well. Foreign visitors applying for the e-visa upload a 35 x 45 mm photo at 300 dpi, as a JPG under 1 MB, that complies with ICAO Doc 9303.

Overview

Uzbekistan's Ministry of Internal Affairs issues the ID card and the passport for travel abroad through its migration and citizenship units, with Public Services Centres and my.gov.uz as further ways in. None of these channels takes a photo from you: the face is captured digitally when you give your fingerprints. Consulates of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs serve citizens abroad and take one print alongside their own capture.

Visitors use a different system. The official electronic visa portal asks applicants to upload a facial photo and a copy of the passport data page; the face image must be 35 x 45 mm at 300 dpi and follow ICAO Doc 9303, and the data page copy must be readable and no larger than 500 KB.
