The photo is 36 x 47 mm. A photographer normally sends it to the police electronically, and you enter the photo code in the application. The photo must be at most 6 months old.

Overview

Residents of the Åland Islands hold the Finnish passport. The Åland police (Polisen Åland) grant it, either through the online service or at a police station. People with Åland regional citizenship receive a passport with the extra text Åland on the cover.

The photo follows the Finnish police rules: 36 x 47 mm on paper, or a 500 x 653 pixel JPEG sent by a photographer to the police photograph server. The police run no passport photo service, apart from one point at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport, so you arrange the photograph yourself. A paper photo is accepted only if you apply at the station.
