At a glance

Gabon has two photo pages: the e-visa and visas requested at embassies. The photo tool uses 35 x 45 mm for the e-visa and 35 x 35 mm for embassy visas, but no official page read confirms either size. The e-visa portal's own rules could not be read, and the only size on an official form is a "format max. 35 x 45 mm" box from the embassy in Canada. Embassies ask for one or two printed photos.

Overview

Two bodies handle Gabon's visas. The Direction Générale de la Documentation et de l'Immigration (DGDI) runs the online e-visa portal. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through its embassies and consulates, handles visas on paper. The foreign ministry's visa page lists two recent, identical ID photos for short stays of up to 90 days and says its missions do not issue long-stay visas.

Photo rules differ between the two routes and between missions. Washington asks for one passport photo stapled or glued to the form, while Ottawa asks for two. Neither the ministry nor the Washington page gives a size or background colour, and the e-visa portal builds its pages with scripts, so its photo instructions could not be read. Check the portal or your embassy before you print or upload anything.

Frequently asked questions

There are two: one for the e-visa requested on the DGDI portal, and one for visas applied for at Gabonese embassies and consulates. They cover different channels, so read the one that matches how you are applying.

The e-visa is run by the immigration directorate (DGDI) and requested on its portal. Paper visas are requested at Gabonese embassies and consulates, which answer to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Only short stays of up to 90 days are handled at embassies.

None was found. The ministry's list and the Washington page give no size. The only one printed on an official form is a "format max. 35 x 45 mm" box on the Ottawa embassy's application, so ask the mission or follow the portal.

For a paper application at an embassy, yes: the ministry lists two and the Washington embassy asks for one. For the e-visa, no official page read says what photo the online form takes, so follow the portal's instructions.
