At a glance

The one document covered for the Falkland Islands is the passport. Applications go through the Customs and Immigration Service in Stanley to HM Passport Office, and the photo follows its printed photo rules: 2 identical prints of 35 x 45 mm (45 mm high), head 29 to 34 mm from chin to crown, on a plain cream or light grey background, taken in the last month.

Overview

The Falkland Islands have one document page here, the passport. The Falkland Islands Government's Customs and Immigration Service, at Ross Road in Stanley, receives applications for British and BOTC passports for those who qualify. It publishes no photo standard of its own, and the GOV.UK page for the islands tells applicants to include 2 identical new photos that follow HM Passport Office (HMPO) rules.

Unlike a UK application made online, the Stanley route is a paper form that you hand in at the office, in person or through someone who goes for you, so the photos are prints and no digital file is uploaded. The office also warns that applications reaching HMPO without coming through it are returned. See the passport page for the full photo rules, the countersignature step and the sources.
