At a glance

The Guyanese document covered here is the passport, applied for on Form A through the Central Immigration and Passport Office in Georgetown or through a Guyanese embassy or consulate. Form A allows a photograph of no more than 45 x 35 mm (1.77 x 1.38 in) and no less than 32 x 26 mm (1.26 x 1.02 in), printed on photo quality paper. Missions abroad add a plain white background.

Overview

Guyana's Ministry of Home Affairs hosts Form A, the passport application, on its website. In Georgetown the form is handled at the Central Immigration and Passport Office, where a booth takes the applicant's colour photograph. The ministry also links an online application and appointment system.

Citizens living abroad apply through a Guyanese embassy or consulate. Those offices publish more detail than Form A, including the white background and rules on glasses and head coverings, and each decides how many prints it wants. A person who vouches for you, the recommender, signs the form and certifies the back of a copy of the photograph.
