Suriname photo specifications
At a glance
For a Surinamese e-passport, the Bureau voor Burgerzaken takes your photo when you apply, so a printed pasfoto is optional; you must not wear glasses. Foreign visitors who need a visa upload a 3 x 4 cm (30 x 40 mm) colour photo of at least 472 x 709 pixels on a white background. Visitors who only pay the Entry Fee need no photo.

Overview
Two ministries handle the two documents. The Directoraat Burgerzaken of the Ministry of Home Affairs, also known as the CBB, issues passports to Surinamese citizens. Since the e-passport arrived on 2 May 2025, its bureaus take the passport photo and biometric data themselves, so the rules there are about how you look on the day, not about a print you bring.
Visas for foreigners fall under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which runs its online applications through VFS Global. Many nationalities only pay an Entry Fee with a passport copy, while visa applicants upload a photo in the smaller 3 x 4 cm format.
