Mauritania photo specifications
Photo sizes and rules for 3 documents issued in Mauritania, taken from the issuing authorities and linked to their official pages.
At a glance
Mauritania's passport, national identity card and visa are all handled by ANRPTS, the national population register agency. It publishes no official photo size for any of them. Passports and ID cards are requested with your national identification number at a citizen reception centre or an embassy; visas are applied for online as an e-visa.
Overview
The Agence Nationale du Registre des Populations et des Titres Sécurisés (ANRPTS) issues the biometric passport and the national identity card, and runs the online visa portal for foreign visitors. Mauritanians apply for the first two with their national identification number (NNI) at a citizen reception centre (CAC), in Nouakchott, in the regional capitals, or at one of the Mauritanian missions abroad such as the embassy in Paris.
The three documents differ in how a photo comes into it. For the passport and the card, the file lists name no photo and no size, and ANRPTS says nothing on how the portrait is captured. For the visa, the traveller completes an online form and the biometric data is captured at the border on arrival. Each document has its own guide with the sources.
