Overview
The passport is the main photo document for citizens of Saint Kitts and Nevis, a federation of two islands. Applications are taken at the Passport Office in Basseterre and in Charlestown, and at high commissions, embassies and consulates overseas, which pass them to the Ministry of National Security, Citizenship and Immigration; the Immigration Department then issues the passport.
Citizenship by investment is run separately by the Citizenship Unit (CIU), which accepts applications only through authorised agents. Since April 2026 its citizens complete biometric enrolment, where the passport photo is captured live, while other citizens still hand in prints signed by a recommender.
