Overview
Bangladeshi documents handle photos in three different ways. Passports are issued by the Department of Immigration and Passports (DIP), and for the e-passport the photo is captured with your fingerprints and iris scans when you attend the passport office or a mission. Only children under 6, who are exempt from biometrics, need a printed 3R photo, and missions disagree on its background colour.
Visas for foreign nationals still use a printed photo: DIP's Machine Readable Visa form, completed online and printed, carries a 35 x 45 mm colour photo with a white background, and each mission sets how many copies it wants. Despite many websites offering one, the government has not introduced an e-visa; the online systems are the MRV form and a visa-on-arrival pre-application run by the Special Branch.
Two documents use small square uploads. The Ministry of Home Affairs takes Dual Nationality Certificate applications online with a 300 x 300 pixel photo, and the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority asks for a 300 x 300 pixel photo of up to 150 KB on its service portal.

Not if you are 6 or older. DIP's instructions say no photo needs to be attached to the e-passport form, and the photo is taken at your biometric enrolment. Children under 6 need a 3R lab print, 89 x 127 mm.
The visa photo is 35 x 45 mm, glued to the printed MRV form. Most passport applicants supply no photo at all, so the visa photo is the main printed photo size for Bangladesh documents.

No. The Embassy of Bangladesh in Washington says the government has not yet introduced an e-visa. You can fill in the visa form online and pre-apply for a visa on arrival, but the visa is issued by a mission or at the port of entry.
