Georgia visa photo requirements
The 35 × 45 mm photo rules set by Embassy of Georgia in Jordan for the Georgia visa, with the official wording and sources.
Quick answer
What size is the Georgia visa photo?
For a visa from a Georgian embassy or consulate you upload one biometric photo inside the online e-application. Embassies differ: Indonesia asks for 3.5 x 4.5 cm (35 x 45 mm) on white and accepts only original soft copies; Jordan asks for 472 x 610 pixels on white, with the face covering 80% of the picture. Visa-free nationals need no photo, and the e-visa portal has its own rules.
Georgia grants entry in three ways. Citizens of many countries need no visa, for example Jordanians and Lebanese, who may stay one full year under Government Ordinance No 255, as the embassy in Amman explains. Eligible nationals planning a short stay can use the e-visa portal, which has its own photo rules. Everyone else, and anyone who needs a study, work or other long-stay visa, applies through a Georgian embassy or consulate.
The consular route starts in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' e-application system, where the applicant registers, picks the service and books a visit. Checklists on the ministry's site for the embassy in the UAE ask for "One biometric photo", uploaded in the system, and for the application to be printed, signed and scanned back in. Because each embassy publishes its own wording, the size, background and file rules below depend on the post that handles your application.
Two embassy pages give the most detail. The embassy in Jordan asks for a recent biometric photograph with a white background and clear facial features, and points to the Public Service Development Agency's leaflet for the photo standards. The embassy in Indonesia says the photo must meet ICAO standards or the application will not be processed.

Key requirements
- The photo is uploaded in the application
The embassy in Jordan says: upload the photo in the photo section at the beginning of the application. The embassy in Indonesia says it must be uploaded electronically in a designated area of the visa application form, and that it does not accept photos in a material form or uploaded separately with other documents.
- Sizes differ by embassy
Indonesia gives 3.5x4.5 with a white background. Jordan gives a digital photo of 472x610 pixels, or a scanned photo of 4x5.16 cm scanned at 300 DPI resolution. The first is 35 x 45 mm; the second is about 40 x 52 mm. Use the figures of the embassy that will process your visa.
- White background
Both embassy pages that give a size also give a white background: "a recent biometric photograph with a white background and clear facial features" in Jordan, and "3.5x4.5 with a white background" in Indonesia.
- ICAO standard, or no processing
Indonesia's page states: if the photo does not meet the ICAO standards, the visa application will not be processed. The Amman embassy refers applicants to the agency's illustrated photo standards for the detail.
- Original files; edited photos refused in Indonesia
The Indonesia page says only original soft copy photos are accepted and that scanned or edited photos are not allowed. Jordan allows a scanned photo at 4 x 5.16 cm and 300 DPI, so the rule is specific to that embassy rather than Georgia-wide.
- Face size
Jordan says the face should cover 80% of the picture. The agency's leaflet, which the Jordan page links, asks for the face to take up 70 to 80% of the vertical size of the photo.
- No photo if you need no visa
Nationals who may enter without a visa do not apply, so no photo is involved. The embassy in Amman lists a one-year visa-free stay for Jordan and Lebanon, and refers other nationalities to the consular department's "Do I need a visa?" check.
Do's and don'ts
Do
- Read the visa page of the Georgian embassy that handles your application before preparing the photo
- Upload the photo in the photo section of the e-application, not with the other documents
- Use a plain white background and a clear, front-facing biometric photo
- Keep an original soft-copy file rather than a scan or an edited copy where the embassy asks for it
- Match the pixel size or centimetre size the embassy states
Don't
- Do not post or hand in a print where the embassy accepts electronic photos only
- Do not use a scan of a printed photo for the embassy in Indonesia
- Do not apply for a consular visa if you qualify for visa-free entry or the e-visa
- Do not assume 35 x 45 mm works everywhere: Jordan states pixels and 4 x 5.16 cm
- Do not upload a photo that fails the ICAO standard
Sample photos

Illustrations, not real photos. The official rules above always take priority; some documents do not allow glasses at all.
Glasses
The visa pages do not set their own glasses rule. The Public Service Development Agency's photo leaflet, which the Jordan page links as the photo standard, asks that the eyes are clearly visible, with no reflections on the lenses and no dark lenses, and that frames do not cover the eyes.
Babies and children
Each applicant submits their own visa application, including family members travelling together, as the Indonesia embassy says. A child therefore needs a photo of their own in the same format. For applicants under 18, the embassy in Indonesia asks for the notarised written consent of the parents, with passport copies and the birth certificate, for an immigration (working) visa, and a checklist from the embassy in the UAE asks for a parental consent letter for under-18s.
Printed and digital photos
Consular visa photos are digital. Indonesia refuses photos in material form, and Jordan wants either a digital file of 472x610 pixels or a scan of 4 x 5.16 cm made at 300 DPI. None of the pages read asks for a print to hand in with the application.
A photo taken at home can be cropped and resized to the pixel size an embassy states, then uploaded. Keep the original file, since the Indonesia embassy accepts only original soft copies.
Where to submit the photo
Register in the e-application system of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, choose the embassy that serves you and the visa service, and book a visit. The embassies in the UAE and Jordan say a visit at the booked date and time is required, and Jordan adds that the originals of all documents must be submitted. If the visa is approved, you present your passport so the embassy can attach the visa sticker.
Eligible nationals planning a short stay of under 90 days can use the e-visa portal instead, which is covered on its own page. An e-visa application is possible only while you are outside Georgia.
How to get your Georgia visa photo
- Check the official requirements. Read the official specification for the Georgia visa: 35 × 45 mm print, 472 × 610 px digital file, white background. Check the rules on pose, expression, glasses and headwear below.
- Take the photo. Follow the key requirements: the photo is uploaded in the application; sizes differ by embassy; white background; iCAO standard, or no processing.
- Prepare a print or digital file. Consular visa photos are digital. Indonesia refuses photos in material form, and Jordan wants either a digital file of 472x610 pixels or a scan of 4 x 5.16 cm made at 300 DPI. None of the pages read asks for a print to hand in with the application.
- Submit the photo with your application. Register in the e-application system of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, choose the embassy that serves you and the visa service, and book a visit.
