At a glance

In Azerbaijan the ID card and the passport photo are taken by the issuing office, including at ASAN service centres, to ICAO requirements, and no size is published for either. Embassies abroad list two colour prints of 3 x 4 cm (30 x 40 mm) with the passport application, and visa applications at embassies ask for two colour photos of that size. The ASAN Visa e-visa asks for a scan of the passport photo page.

Overview

Three documents matter for photos in Azerbaijan. The identity card and the ordinary passport are both issued through the Ministry of Internal Affairs, including through ASAN service centres, and inside the country the office takes the photograph and fingerprints itself. Citizens abroad apply for the passport at an embassy or consulate, which also captures the portrait, although several missions still list two 3 x 4 cm colour prints for the application form.

Visas are handled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs: embassies and consulates take two printed colour photos, and the ASAN Visa portal handles e-visas for eligible nationalities. The 3 x 4 cm size is the one named in the Migration Code for visa photos. For the ID card and for the photo taken at ASAN no current size is published.
